Born Prosperity, son of Dr. Cyril Thomas and Carrie Sease Wyche. A.B., 1911, University of South Carolina; LL.B., 1916, Georgetown University Law School. Admitted to Bar, 1916.

Married Mary Wheeler until her death in 1939. They had five children, Mary Burgess, Caro Wofford, Sara Higgins, Marcia McIver, and Cyril Thomas Wyche. Married Lottie Wood 1946. They had two children, Charles Cecil Wyche, II, and William Spencer Wyche.
The four loves of his life were his family, the law, music, and poetry. He frequently commented that “law is a jealous mistress” and he practiced in that manner — with single-minded devotion to his profession. He enjoyed the combat in the Courtroom but had deep compassion for the indigent. His character and ethical standards were impeccable.
