He practiced law in Horry County as a sole practitioner and with other distinguished attorneys. He was President of the Horry County Bar and was the County Attorney for thirty-eight years. A dedicated student of the law, he was meticulous in the preparation of any legal matter. He was recognized and respected as an excellent trial advocate. For many years, he was a close friend and advocate of the late Judge L.D. Lide. Throughout his years of practice, he gave to his profession the greatest respect and his ethical standards were beyond reproach.
