Ned Gregory (1903–1985)

Ned Gregory was born in Lancaster, South Carolina on July 5, 1903 and died in 1985 at the age of 82.

He practiced law in Lancaster until his death. His sons, H. Jackson Gregory and Ned Gregory, Jr., practiced with him as the firm of Gregory and Gregory. Ned was an excellent lawyer, was active in civic, professional and religious affairs, served in the legislature, and was county and city attorney. His portrait hangs in the courtroom in Lancaster as evidence of the high esteem of his fellow lawyers. He was devoted to his wife, Lucille, and his family. He received South Carolina’s highest award, The Order of the Palmetto.

Ned had the respect and admiration of people of all walks of life as a man of ability and integrity. He lived in accordance with the admonition of the prophet Micah, Chapter 6, Verse 8. He acted justly, he loved mercy and he walked humbly with his God.
