Robert Salane was born in 1947 and died 49 years later on November 8, 1996 while attending the annual meeting of the South Carolina Defense Attorneys Association in Atlanta.
Bob was a partner in the law firm of Barnes, Alford, Stork and Johnson prior to his death. He received his juris doctor degree from USC School of Law in 1975. During law school, he served on the Law Review, and was a member of the Moot Court team. He won the District Title all three years. Bob was patient, thorough and dedicated. He worked long hours and welcomed a challenge.
His partners think that the word civility was coined to describe him. Bob loved books, classic movies and golf — he had a master’s degree in history. Bob was devoted to practicing law and said throughout his career that his only professional ambition was to be a good lawyer.
Bob is survived by his wife Teri, and two children, John and Mary Shardon.
