Law Firm Technology: Productivity Software

This guide prepares law students for practice by introducing them to technological issues facing legal practitioners.

Whose job is it?

Some law students may think it is the job of support staff to format legal documents using office software. However, the trend at many firms is to reduce staff, in many cases to a ratio of one administrative assistant for four lawyers (Williams Lea 2015). Junior lawyers may be left to navigate office software themselves if sufficient staff time is not available.
