Claude Ambrose Taylor, Jr. (1933–1991)

Claude Ambrose Taylor, Jr., native of Spartanburg, and son of the late South Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice and Mrs. Taylor. A graduate of USC and its Law School. He served as Chief Page in the S.C. House of Representatives while at Carolina and was a lifelong ardent Gamecock supporter and member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Upon graduation from law school he was commissioned a Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force and served at bases in the U.S. and on Guam for the next three years. He became a member of the Bar in 1958 and was admitted in the courts of this state, United States District Court and the United States Supreme Court. He was Solicitor for the Seventh Judicial Circuit from 1979 to 1985 and a member of Cole & Taylor Law Firm at his death.

A deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg, he was survived by his widow Carolyn, daughter Jane and son Claude III.
